Is it possible, with our own copy of HL2, to get a HD rendering of a scene like the ones VALVe has on the official site ? Or did they use some home-made tool ?

Or maybe their screenshots look very sharp because the images are not in full screen...

Enlighten me :)

Maximum graphics settings. Beyond that, there's nothing to do.

they used max res when taking the screen then scaled it down :)

OK, thanks guys

Which leads me to other questions : who's the HL² player with the biggest PC, to your knowledge (not especially on this forum) ? And which performances does he obtain ?

Jim Biggins an Athlon 64 FX-55 on an Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe, with 2048MB of Corsair TwinX-4400 DDR. He also has Dual XFX GeForce 6800GTs connected via SLI.

He gets about 8fps at 800x600 with everything on low. I think something might have gone wrong there

yes theres something wrong... he should use higher settings for good fps... I got 5800 Ultra and when im running hl2 with 800x600 i get something like 10fps... when i change resolution to 1280x1024 I get 40-50fps with all settings max.
