Yikes!

At the moment the game runs at about... 2-4 frames per second. I was just wondering if theres anything I can do to improve the speed?

Options -> video -> advanced settings
doesnt work since when i click okay, then click okay on the options window the game crashes. something about "datacache.dll"

So, what config files do I need to edit? And what do I need to change in the config files? All suggestions welcome. Thanks :)

the only way you would improve perfomance is buy getting an actual up to date graphics card

Well, I spent 30 mins doing the config, loaded hl2 to see how fast the menu screen was going, then exited out of hl2, then my config file went back to how it came :S

I remember seeing some screenshots on this site from a guy that had HL2 running on super-low settings (through config tweaks). It looked like Quake2 or something.

Yes, thats what i'm aiming to do. If anybody has a config file with super low settings, please post! Im currently looking for a config.cfg without any luck :(
