So far I have been able to get through the game fairly easily without asking for help but I've come to the point where I don't feel like being frustrated anymore.

I'm in the sandtraps area. I've come to the prison. Not only can I find no way to advance to the next area, but the TWO gunships that appeared are kicking my ass all over the place while my antlions are dying left and right a la saving private ryan.

There aren't enough rockets around to take the gunships down and there isn't even a good place to take cover.

Here are a couple screens to show where I'm at, with the brigthness turned up for easier viewing.

And here is me cowering under a table I used to barricade the window.

I just can't see where else I can go, help!

Up behind that railing is a box with infinite rockets; it's against the wall around the corner from the guardpost. Charge up your suit and health in the office behind you, run like hell, and aim fast.

You're going to feel stupid :)

In the 2nd screenshot, you are looking towards an ammo crate full of rockets. Ie, infinite rockets. Just to the left of the big stack of wooden boxes there. Use those to kill the gunships, once you've done that, you'll have enough leisure time to explore. IMO this was one of the harder battles in the game (not very much cover to hide behind).

Note: whenever you have to take a gunship or strider down, there will be a crate of rockets somewhere nearby.

Doh, I just found the crate like 5 minutes after I made this topic. I guess I'll see If I can survive long enough to take the gunships out.

yea that part was a bitch for me too. but where the infinite rockets are...there is a little dark notch in the wall where you can hide in and shoot. then when you need reloading...you just walk a couple feet to get more rockets.
Aim High and good luck.

I love how every time a gunship shows up, a box of rockets "just so happens" to be nearby.
That one on the bridge scaffolding was nasty though... I was like "damn, I have to go BACK that way???"
