Getting the Basic Knife Badge

Does anyone have any hints or Tips for getting this badge? Its the last Basic Badge I need to get
Ive tried to get this for ages, the most kills Ive ever got in a round was 4, and that was because there was 3 guys on a rooftop sniping
And I want to get First Sergeant, but this medal it the only thing holding me back

My freind got this badge by using the Red name glitch to his advantage. He noticed that players of the opposting team would try to revive him a lot, so he would walk up to them and just knife them becuase he would show up with a blue name on their screens. Was quite funny seeing him walk up to them face to face and knife.

If you have SF use the flashbangs in the f2000 kit to your advantadge.

Contrary to popular belief, i found Oman the easiest to rack up knife kills, either by going around the AA emplacements, or hiding on and around those barrier walls on the beach. If all else fails you can go to the main and go from there...

I got my expert badge on Night Flight (SF). I was driving around in the buggy and when I saw an enemy I drove up to him, jumped off and knifed. Therefore I think this is a good method :thumbs:

There is no specific tactic that will get the Knife Badge (or any badge) for ya easily. Some say Karkand, some Sharqi, some have detailed plans for the maps etc.

Really, if you go on a server, and are keyed up, you will get it. Can't explain it, but i got mine after a while, though not when i was trying to get it. Just happened

I got mine (and Veteran, for that matter) on Karkand. I used the Sniper kit, so I HAD to get good at knifing. It's hard as hell, but all it really takes it practice.

Karkand was how I got expert. In the very beginning I flanked everybody by going around the side streets. If they weren't attentive enough I could kill a whole squad before getting killed.

I dunno how many rounds I got ONE kill away from the badge....but man that pissed me off.

100 I think THEN 18 in one round.

When the expert pistol badge was 18 in one round I got 18 as I crossed the 500 global pistol kill mark and didn't get it. I was pissed

I discovered a really good way to get this badge as an engineer (On StKar)

When you have a Jackhammer, you rather commonly find yourself out of ammo very quickly, by the time your empty your also usually rather close to the enemy. So you just pull out you knife and stab them (use your pistol till they also have to reload, then go for the knife)

Doing it this way I managed to get BOTH of those badges, 14 knife kills, 7 pistols, 23 Jackhammers

the whole way Ive found to get knife kills is...get behind enemy lines and they wont expect the enemy to hit them from behind..this way you can knife them while theyre camping.

or - another way is to just rush up to their face when theyre prone..it comes so fast and they don't expect it and before they know whats going on they're dead.

If you really really have trouble with it, you can always meet up with a friend in a server and just kill him the amount of times needed. My friend tried it on me before but the round ended before we could finish, so it's not foolproof.

however most servers dont allow that as it can be classed as stats padding, so you just have to get on a sparsly populated server, hope for the best and shout, KNIFE FIGHT. If everyone is sufficiently board they should all pull out their knives and VOILA!!! its not stats padding

There's just one problem, I can hardly trust my own teammates from TK'ing me (ex. racing for jet) let alone trust random people on other team's from shooting / c4 / nade launch me. :|

I've never got the knife or pistol or explosive badges
I'm randomly whoring the pistol and grenades now... i got like 20 kills with grenades in like 5 mins on evo's server, but still no badge

thats cos hand grenades dont count....

Sure they're explosives, but no they dont count. Only C4, Mines and Claymores.

the secret to getting the explosives badge = be an engineer on karkand, mine the lanes(not the roads) from the hotel towards the nearest us spawn point
get your squad to lure the enemy in - throw your grenades
kaboom - wash rinse repeat

I got My Basic Explosives badge by posting explosives down an elevator in Iron Gator, when I was SEAL. Quite easy go get a lot of kills on that map once the MEC get a foothold.

Oh, and I still havent got the Basic Knife yet.

I got explosives by mines at first as MEC on Karkand, then a mix of C4 and Claymore whoring, just running around putting them anywhere and everywhere

When you get good at knifing, it's an absolute blast. The knife is one of my favorite weapons.

I dont think Im ever going to get good at knifing.

You will. Trust me. Takes a looong time (even longer if you rarely use the Sniper class) but eventually it'll be a cinch.

HAHA! you cant set it up- its random, and it sometimes fixes itself, so its also risky. But i think if you go around picking up enemy kits you might have a better chance at utilising it.

I know you can change the color of your name in the scoreboard...and the size, but I have no idea about how to change to the red name bug on purpose..I think it's completely random..
