getting the gnome through the chopper chase

What is the trick to this? If I try to put in the car, it falls out, carrying it doesn't really work since you need the car, and I can't get out of the area where you fighter the chopper after blowing it up.

what i did, was left the gnome by the gate you smash through, with the zombies, and destroyed the chopper with the mines as it dropped them. Then i went back and got the gnome.

you still fight the chopper again in the base.

alright, didn't realize you could get rid of it before the scripted arena battle. thanks.

I found that there are a lot of places you can stop and the chopper will just wait for you up ahead so I followed a pattern of putting the gnome in the car (using the rear window trick), going slow over the jumps while watching where if flies out, stopping, fetching it and putting it back into the car again.

Yeah, lots of saves and loads. It's kind of trial and error. And yeah, he does fall out. If you lodge him in, firmly enough, he doesn't fly out quite as far.

Oh, and I also grav-gunned him in front of me, then followed with the car. And repeated that for a while.

I got out picked him up punted him then got back into the car drove were he landed and repeated.

Um... I don't quite understand your way. How are you going to get him down the road...??

He is destroying the chopper with its mines before getting to the rebel base allowing him to then move the gnome unhindered. Rather awesome if you ask me.

Aah. Yeah, I didn't do that, because I just get pasted against the trains.

I left the car behind and ran dodging under train cars and stuff carrying the gnome. Then I dropped it off in the tunnel and ran back to get the car.
