gfx issues in hl2

ok hl2 is out yay.. when i launch it with steam i get this... even on dxlevel 7 and 8

crappy gfx


my sys specs are
p4 2.8
512ram
geforce 5200 128mb

Bah, dont use Steam to play Single Player games is all i can say, i have never liked playing my Single Player games on Steam, always had some problem, but then again, if you ordered em from Steam, i suppose you have no other option.

OK, aside from calling each other whores, is anyone being useful and trying to help the person who started the thread??

I have heard from several places that incomplete download of some of the games (particularly HL:S or CS:S) can cause graphics errors and memory errors (I have both). I am currently finishing my DL of HL:S, to see if this fixes me, but you might want to check, by going to play games menu, right click on each game, and pick properties and see if ANY of them are a partial percent -- my HL:S was at 86% when I was having all of my problems.
