Giant rolling ball?

How would I create a giant ball that I could roll around? I tried making a brush, displacing it (subdivide), and tying it to func_phybox, but apparently that's not allowed. Help? :|

model a large ball, turn it into the correct type, give it its mass and other physics properties, pop it into your map, job done.

Well you weren't very clear...

Do you mean model a ball, as in a 3D app? or within Hammer?

That would depend on how you wanted the ball to look.

You could always just create a spherical brush.

in a 3D app.. to try do it with brushes would be crazy, more work to get it smooth enough to keep rolling. You get more options with it being a proper model anyway.

I did it with a brush (the sphere shape, 15 faces). It will roll well enough for my purposes I think...

the sphere function is very limited, seems to blow hammer up after about 18 faces or something, may just be me though.

why not just make it yourself?
use the old way of making a sphere from hl1, just use more sides.

yep, not to mention its a waste of brushes.
