GlaDOS maybe hacked?

What makes a computer start going insane? a virus ofcourse. here's what im thinking...
GladDOS was made as a deal breaker so AS gets more funding and BM gets less.
BM noticed that and decided to hack or put a virus in the computer... i don't think they meant for it to kill all the people and all but certinly to ruin the system in DOD's eyes.
It is not crazy to think that these rivals used such dirty methods.
Plus, when you kill the first part of GlaDOS the pictures on the screen above stop for a few seconds on a BM logo.

Delurking because I love Portal that much.

I like the idea. Mainly because I'd love to have a Half Life or further Portal episodes where a 'disinfected' Glados is a voice-in-your-ear aide, but only as long as she's still snarky and passive-aggressive. Anyway, throughout the end of Portal, I kept going back to the idea that Glados was infected. Either by some rogue bit of Combine AI or an old scrap of Black Mesa corporate espionage/sabotage.

But then, I got back on the ole web and noticed that there's some previous HL canon about a 'deadly neurotoxin' incident predating the Black Mesa event - I need to find more about this - that might completely wipe out the possibility of Combine AI, leaving good ole Black Mesa... or even Aperture themselves at fault.

Kinda OT - what are all the spheres' roles? The first may or may not have been the Bitchiness-Inhibitor/Morality one (seems more like it was 'Psychology+Empathy', though), Red was Anger/Agression (growly), one was Curiosity (questions)...

The Blue one was a cake mix.. and i don't see how the Combine can take over GlaDOS.. there is no sign of Combine invasion to the facility nor any of thier tech.
It is not impossible to think that BM might wanted to throw off AS from the map, seeing as they are rivals.
Plus it seems GlaDOS was "hacked" early when she launched cause there are some projectros in places that talk about her beeing better then BM.
Anyway i don't see how a computer may act on his own. but that just me.

Right right! That skipped my mind, sorry there. She says she's the one keeping them/it back (Combine? Portal storms? Something else?). Plus, the only thing remotely Combine-like is that high-energy wireless data transmission between Glados and her modules before you put some space between the two. So... yeah, this is definitely spy vs. spy, not spy vs. alien.

Anyway, read On Intelligence. Imagine a reckless company creating the hardware for the described kind of AI (a fairly probable model for allowing the kind of associative intelligence, learning, creativity and adaptation humans exhibit) and then leaving it vulnerable to tampering (the - thank you! - cake-recipe corrupted module). That'll get you more in gear with the possibility of actual machine sentience, awareness and intelligence Glados shows. Her sadism makes even more sense if a module were added to emulate human psychology and then completely wrecked by a virus.
