GLADos strange idea (Stupid probably)

Indeed it does. And 'read' is spelt.. well, 'read'.

I think GLADoS is on the Borealis. THe point is, without her cores she wouldn't be able to get more cores, as she's disabled. Thar. And goblin, you have no idea what a theory is.

time for my 2cents, even though im not american...........ANYHOO! I think GLaDOS probably has wirelesss capabilities, and i agree she is not dead. I think as someone said this is a teset facility and so thios GLaDOS was also, a test, or maybe not, whatever. What I'm liking to believe is that there is more then one GLaDOS, but their networked. Theres probably one on the Borealis, probably one at Aperture Science Hq etc. I just think she was a system that went wrong.

myep

Well, I do think it would not be unreasonable of GLaDOS to have some wireless capabilities. After all, wireless systems are intended to simplify complex network deployment.

On a sidenote, my brrrraiiiin hurts after reading this thread. Can anyone suggest a remedy?

Aspirin. Or death.

Seriously, the idea behind this thread is so pointless.

Wireless "skillz" aren't that impressive. They don't mean anything, at all. Of course it's likely that GLaDOS has wireless technology. Everyone, nowadays has wireless technology, and I don't think you realise how much our society depends on it, today. There are consantly wireless lines of data being transmitted through the sky and through your body, and wireless technology has been around since the beginning of the last century, if not before that. For GLaDOS to have Blutooth technology, or something similar, wouldn't be that impressive, and it wouldn't do much for her, except allow her to do what she does with wires, without wires.

It's highly unlikely, however, that she is powered wirelessly. This is quite a different form of wireless technology.

And you just wound dumb when you say "wireless skillz"

I would really like a theory on how did the cores were activated at the end of the game.

And Duckles, ye are rude mate. With all the "GTFO" and "Who are you" stuff.

I realy do not know if it's just a "local" behaviour ye have addopted in this forums, but for me it's called Rude, not negative.

You see, that's where your problem lies. You're looking far too deeply into a computer game! For all we know, the bit at the end was just a joke! I can't believe you're taking the whole thing so seriously. It's evident that you've never played Half-Life, otherwise you wouldn't be asking such irrelevant questions. A more relevant question might be "What would happen to Chell once she's left Aperture Science Laboratories" or "How will this affect the Combine". Or you could just stop theorising at all, because you're generally not very good at it.

If we take the "bit" (for want of a better word) at the end seriously, and we wonder why they switched on, it's evident that they have their own power source, as the cores that were detached from GLaDOS were still on. It wouldn't matter if GLaDOS were still alive or not, they might be able to activate on their own. And what are they going to do on their own? Seriously? We know that GLaDOS has these "Wireless Skillz" because she was able to communicate with the cores when they were "off" her. That's not impressive. My hands-free kit has "Wireless Skillz". I don't theorise about it.

And Duckles, ye are rude mate. With all the "GTFO" and "Who are you" stuff.

Never once, yet, did I tell anyone to "GTFO". I merely question who someone was when they made a bold statement in the middle of a thread with no word to any of us why they had arrived.

You make no sense. Go back home.

Well, I took the bit at the end (still alive song, multiple "spare supercomputer parts" turning on) not only as a joke but also as a blatant sequel bait.

I don't see a point in this discussion. Psofus_HffK seems to suggest (as far as my inferior English skillzzzzzzzz alow me to comprehend) GLaDOS "survived" by transferring herself (or some part) to those spare cores over some kind of wireless connection (the same connection that kept her in contact with the "original" personality cores up until they were burned).

Um.

Okay.

Well.
Me go Aspirin now.

uh.. no, I don't mean that.

Anyway, Duckles? whatever.

How ya came to the conclusion that I haven't played HL again?

seems it'[s not just me to make crappy theories. :p

Smartpants.. pfft

How did you come to the conclusion that I haven't played Half-Life, again?

I don't remember, but I had a pretty good idea when I said it. Probably to do with the fact that there are so many unanswered things and plot-holes in Half-Life, that if you're asking for a theory on Portal, which seems to answer alot more questions than Half-Life...

seems that it's not just me that makes crappy theories. :p

Smartpants.. pfft

Yes. Yes it is.
