Hello guys.
I'm currently working on this Glock model my cousin just bought himself. I am going to use it in an animation. A short film that will finish sometime in 2004.
So far I have modelled 7 parts. These are highpoly and will not be used in a game so don't consider that.
Next weekend I'm going to southNorway to record sounds, shoot with it and shoot some more pictures/videos for further use.

Hereyou have some images of what I have so far. Updates will come when I have something new to show you. I would also like to try normal mapping with my higpolymodels. Can anyone point me to some URL's that cover the subject?

I am using Maya 5.0.1.

I also made a quick shoot-test:)

I like it m8 .. But you could lighten the modles up abit more so we could see your work better :)

Thanks for the replies:)

pendragon: I started a tutorial when I started this one, but I realized that I would never finish it in time... The way I model is actually quite funny. Most people do Low-poly and go highpoly later, but I model parts till I'm fully satisfied and then reduce the polycount wherever I can do it without distructing the mesh.

I hate it when people stand behind my back while I'm modeling :) , but I can probably screencapture some modeling on the nest parts if you're interested. Then you'll atleast get some kind of tutorial :)

I forgot to show you the Level of detail on the inside, will render an image where you can see it. I'm going to animate the mechanism inside the gun during a shot. I''m also going to rig the gun.

looked good, I like the amount of detail put into it. Should be a very nice model when finished. Maybe when its finished fully and all modelled put everything together and use reactor physics to have the gun fall apart :P

I'll see what I can do. Maybe I'll write a tutorial on one part at least, but I do not have time to pull it off right now :)

SidewinderX143: Mesa likes maya more. And so does Weta :P

IchI: Thx, hehe... I can use Maya dynamics on it atleast :) I try to model one part per day, but I have a looong equipmentlist to model so we'll see when it gets finished...

Thanks for all the replies.
