Other than at the start, was there the Gman anywhere? Or did the vorts keep him at bay?

I think they're still keeping him at bay, but I have to say that the intro was awesome. Too bad it didn't really reveal anything about him.

well, it tells us a little, that the vortigaunts are more powerful than he is in whatever dimension/universe that was. He ain't invincible!

it also shows that other beings know about the gman and what he is doing. They also know how to stop him, or delay him indefinitly. Plus it shows there are sides, the gman and everyone else. Clearly some people do not agree with the gman, which may mean he has bad intentions...

I was a little dissapointed with the amount of G-man in this, I expected more from him then to stand down to the Vorts.

We dont know they are bad intentions, maybe he is seeing the bigger picture. But then again it is hinting towards that.

I think the G-man will remain mysterious all the way through the episodes and assuming that there is a Half-Life 3 that will finish it all off, he will somehow become the ultimate villian

My question is, what is the Vortigaunt's reasoning for holding back the G-Man?

During Half-Life 2 the Vortigaunts showed a lot of respect toward Gordon. The events of HL2 only added to that hero status. So they would do anything to protect Gordon.

after saving alyx maybe they saw that gordon was under control or something, or they always knew, which seems more likely cuz they seem like they know a lot. and this time tehey refused the gman from taking him into another stasis lock or w/e lol

Yeah, no doubt the Vortigaunts have been staying away from the fighting, waiting for there moment to shine (hehe, get it? "Shine!" Hehe...) by saving Alyx and Gordon.
But I'm pretty sure the Vortigaunts can't hold against the G-man forever, it took what, eight of them to save Gordon? That's a lotta firepower for a guy in a suit with speech disorder. Something tells me that when G-man says "We'll see about that!", he ain't bluffin'...

Right lets start the rantings on GMan speculation (originally I thought he was part of a galactic resistance against the Combine but if the Vortigaunts are against him this may not be true).

Also I believe I have discovered how GMan "stops" time he has teleportation technology so advanced (more advanced than the other powers in the HL universe) it can cross time (time is only technically another part of space ( I do physics :P ).
