God damn gunships!

Anyone got any tips on defeating these beasties?

When you face your first one you're told to aim the red dot of the RPG at them and fire, but the ****ers keep shooting them down.

Usually takes 10/20 rockets to actually get enough hits (3 I think) to kill one.

So.. anyone know how to kill one quicker? So far they're the only reason I've died in HL2 and I'm @ chapter 8

I've just parked my buggy up to face a few combine and now a gunship has me pinned down in the lighthouse

you aim the laser past the gunship, fire and redirect your laser onto the ship.....simple

hmm, makes sense I guess. I thought the guy who gave it you (the RPG) told you to aim the laser at them... duh, silly me!

I just make a bunch of figure eights in the sky, and when the rocket is behind the ship, then I aim the laser at it so that it doesnt have a chance to shoot the rocket down.

yea u have to fire it, and make the rocket evade the bullets to hit it. Just imagine you ARE the rocket

I don't post ofter (not at all), but this is something special...the perfect take down of the gunship!

First grab some rockets, then aim and fire at the gunship just as its trying to manouvre(sp?) itself towards you. You then guide the rocket evasivly(damnit sp?) towards the gunship till it strikes. Bada Bing, Bada Boom, after a few hits watch the bird fall. Here's some shots for you:
