Why the **** do missiles have a tighter turning radius than a jet at full turn?

That means the only defense for missiles is flares, which makes missiles HORRIBLY over powered. Since all you have is flares, you have to drop them sometime between full missile lock and death. Now since you don't know when the missiles are fired at you, it's a gamble as to when to drop them. A gamble with odds so great and vast the chances of you actually guessing correctly are about as likely as me winning the lotto with 1,2,3,4,5.

Seriously, how are you supposed to avoid missiles for the four and a half minutes in between flare drops? I've just started flying back over my air base and parachuting out; because that's about the only way I can 'win'. If you fire a missile at a jet that as at full turn then the missile should MISS.

I don't care about reality, because about the only thing realistic about this game is that the cars have four wheels and guns kill people. And don't bring up some shit about learning to fly better, because I kill people in dog fights all the time while they're trying to avoid me, it's impossible to lose the other jet unless you're some kind of special ed student. Even if the jet leaves your sights, you can still follow his little white trail. The missiles are far too easy to you, and provide no satisfaction for a kill, and nothing but aggravation for the killed.

…and yes I did just get shot down in my jet...and why the **** don't you have different sounds for when a plane locks onto you and when a linebacker locks onto you. There are totally different types of maneuvers you make for each situation, yet both cases provide you with the same sound.

Dodging missiles is amazingly easy :|

Just need to practice more.

... as long as you're in a J-10, otherwise jet's cannot dodge missiles under normal circumstances.

Xcellerate: Well the best defense is to be aware of the surroundings and not allow him to get on your six. That mean's you'll need to fly high (~450+) and be on a lookout. As for your problem with flares, here's a tip that will help you immensely. Bind an easily accessible key to the 'Look Back' camera view and bind another to your normal 'cockpit view'. Some even bind the 'cinematic view' which is actually very useful, since it shows in angles that you can never see in 'look back' (I personally just cycle to this one with 'C' after one tap on 'look back') Anyway, you'll have to get some good practice in handling your jet while flying in the 'look back' view, but once you get a hang of it you'll know when's the crucial moment to release the flare.

Now if the jet managed to get on your six, there are different manuevres to pull off. For me, I pull straight up and make an 'S' pathway, at the peak you'll be very near the stalling point so becareful. Now here's the good part, either you go back down and go all nuts trying to lose this guy, or you can pull off a tricky stunt that will lose 95% of the normal pub jet pilots. Fly your jet into the 800-900 height range and keep your plane VERY steady, then mash that afterburner key and you'll start flying at Mach 2 or 3 (Depending on your plane). This manuevre is very tricky to pull off, but if you're in a JSF and you're up agaisnt a J-10, then you're basically forced to do this (or you can eject out).

Hope this helps! :D

edit: Forgot to add, once you're flying at Mach 2-3 (a JSF can hit Mach 3-4 even) look on the mini-map and make sure to turn before you fly off the map. When you turn make sure you NEVER tilt the nose up, cause if you do then the momentum will push your plane upwards and you'll skyrocket into stall range. Also, keep in mind that flares drop down so try to have them in the enemie's line of sight to maximize their effect. Breaking the speed barrier feels utterly awesome since everything goes quiet, only thing missing is the sonic boom... if only a patch would add this :|

If I'm flying in anything except the J-10, the missiles often miss a turning target, sometimes even one that is flying straight (and sometimes I lose missiles, but they don't actually fire [firing sound and nothing else]).
