I sure as hell hope so but I dont know this article over at IGN http://pc.ign.com/articles/537/537121p1.html they make it sound like css is for sure the mp component for HL2.

This is great news. I highly doubt a September 1st release, that's just a little too optimistic, but hopefully late September to early October.

I know it's not "officially" the preload time from the 17th but I can't help feeling that this could be more to do with contracts with Viviendi, rather than the ability not to preload fully.

Didn't Gabe say that preloading would begin two weeks before release?

who knows ... not to be a unoptomistic... i doubt the HL2 17th pre-load date is going to be hit
