In HL2 it was said in the end by Dr. Breener that he had "potential bids for freeman", also the same was said by the (G-man) in the very end of HL2 and gordan was set aside till then, just as in HL1, for waiting i presume. By this I assume that both men do work for some other civilization like the combine, as the gman uses gordan for his work. obviously dr. breen was used by the combine to turn earth over to them and gordan was sent to stop him. Im guessing that the G-man works for someone that doesnt like the combine. Anyone agree, further ideas? I checked to see if this was posted but i did not see anything, so dont go crazy if it was.

Spelling mistakes aside, maybe the Combine want to buy Gordon's contract so that he can be on their side?

I wouldn't be surprised if the G-Man is nothing more than an inter-dimensional business man. If a better offer comes, I think he'll take it...

Has it ever occured to anyone that we may be playing for the side of the Combine in Aftermath? That would be incredibly...odd. Just think... the Combine find out about "Gordon4hire" and have literally limitless funds. That could explain why he was bought back again so quickly. But, as Gordon has hiw own free will, he decides to still rebel against the Combine.... hence, continues working with Alyx.

Actually, that may explain how Gordon and the others would be able to make it out of the Citidel alive. They do have about one million floors to go through (each infested with combine soldiers).

However, an expansion shouldn't advance major plot devices, but provide a seperate story that can be viewed as cannon if need be (i.e. Opposing Force).

Tuhat's only true for OOGEs (Out Of Gordon Experiences)

Aftermath is what is called "eposodic content" so it's allowed to have major facts in it, unlike the OOGEs
