graphic help!!

I started the game, and i went to the video setting. i changed it probably too much and my moniter doesnt support it. NOW, when i start the game i see nothing. I can hear everything but see nothing. So does anyone know how can i set my settings to default without going in to the game itself.

It's because your comp. is DirectX 7 or below, so the intro is beyond it's capabilities (I've seen this before). Wait a few minutes and the game will start up.

If you really want to see the intro, search this forum and you will find a link to the video of it. Either here or in "Help and Support".

If you mean you have set the resolution too high then open up your Steam window, right click on episode one and go to properties, then set launch options and type in -w1024 or whatever resolution you want, e.g. 800, 640, 1280 and so on so forth.

Thx guys, 99, u r wrong, i got directx 9c. i Pc is pretty up to date. and also the drivers. i think i did set the resolution or smth else high. well, drac trick didnt work for me. so anyother way guys?

Weird :| It should work, make sure there is a space inbetween the -w 1024 (or w.e), if that doesn't work or you did try it with a space then go into C:/Program Files/Steam/Steamapps/[email protected]/HL2:Ep1 and i think you delete the hl2 folder or the episodic one (not sure) but then when you start the game up next it create a fresh folder with everything at it's default, but i'd get someone to double check that i'm right on that before doing it, i've done it with other Steam games before and it was fine but i'm not sure about EP1 as i never had any problems.
