Hi guys,

I've a big problem with my Hl2! I bought a new Graphiccard (6800GT) and now I can play Hl2 no more. It seems that my Hl2 flickers in different intervals. One can describe it badly!! ;(

Here's a short clip with flickering

My system:

P4@2,0GHZ
Nvidia 6800GT
768MB-DDR
WindowsXp Home

I hope u can help me!

P.S I've already tested a lot of drivers and diagram attitudes!

did you deinstall youre old Drivers and installed the new ones on the CD?
you got with the 6800GT?

Whoa. The vertices are getting all crazy-go-nuts. Stop the video on one of the flicker frames, you'll see what I'm talking about. You say this always happened with the video card? Even if it only happens in 1 game, it could be a hardware defect. A friend of mine had this card that allowed you to see through walls in Half-Life, but Quake 2 and everything else worked fine. Sent it back to the manufacturer who said that the GPU was totally wrong.

It's only in Hl2 and CSS. Other games like Doom3 run fine. I don't believe it's a hardware defect.

@Lemonking Yes I've deinstalled the old drivers with Driver Cleaner and reinstalled many other 7x.xx drivers.

My GPU temp. is 69-73C. Maybe it's the problem or it's my slow CPU.

Make sure you videocard is not overheating, visual artifacts are 1 symptom of overheating or overclocking. Although it only happens in 1 game which is strange. Also check you visual settings. Does it happen at only 1 resolution? Are you using AA or AF?

When it's only in one game it's a "game defect" Oo?!

No, you said Doom3 doesn't do it but HL2 does it, thats only 2 games you've tried it on. Doom3 is opengl and HL2 is directx, so try a game with an engine that isn't opengl.
