Its hardly perfect in every sence. Phsyics are slightly bugged (even though they are great) and its abit of a memory whore ive found.

Great game just not perfect.

The loading times severly aggravate me. HL2 could have been a fluid environment except every 15 minutes of gameplay is interupted by 20 seconds of loading. Shame on Valve.

HL2 does have its bright spots, but it doesn't get the "greatest game ever award".

But I am only 1.5 hours into it. Hey I have to eat sometime. I got home from classes and started to play HL2, then hunger made me stop. I would rate HL2 a 9.2 as well.

Doom 3 loads an entire level at once (a big level mind you). :O World of Warcraft loads an entire continent in 45 seconds and doesn't need to load it again. Seemless loading can be done.

I find it frustrating when I'm so immersed into a game only to be pulled out of the action. Often times it is right in the middle of some situation that has my full attention. I just find the constantly loading to be a painful and annoying flaw. The game would be amazing if the constant loading was eliminated.

i don't find the loading too annoying...probably b/c im use to it with playing games with a crappy computer, i had to wait a while to load

Yes this game is F*cking amazing! Best game i've ever played! I love it!! I liked the part when I put my HEV suit on, it felt so good.

1.5 hours is not enough. I did not even comment until 3hrs (at 3am PST hehehe), and all I said was it was the best 3 hours of gaming I have ever had. Even if the game ended now (I am half way through) it is the BEST single player game I have ever played.

The game gets BETTER and BETTER as you go. Rating it for the first 1.5hrs, as you will find, is too early. There is so much more to come--some awesome stuff.

As for the loading, it all depends on design. HL2 has outdoor and indoor areas together which can be a problem. It also has very alrge areas with a LOT of textures. I did not realize how nice the textures really were until my cousin ran his detail on medium... it still looked good, but they really do pack a LOT of stuff in on HIGH. I play BF1942 a lot, and the loads on that are just as bad if not worse and HL2 levels have a LOT more detail.

Seemless loading can work for some games, but HL2 is pretty detailed and allows some large view distances. The pauses are a good break for me to drink water and to know "Ok the game is saved".
