Half Life 1 Story?

I tried to understand the story during the game and also from few sites but i still have many questions so someone please explain this thing in a clear way and note few things:
1)What happend to the marines and why they attack us?
2)Why Jordon launched the satellite and who ordered him to do it
3)Who are these Vortigulants ( i wanna see their picture or tell me where they first appear in the game )
4)Whats the exact story between XEN and COMBINE CreATuReS?

Vortigaunts are the freaky things that shoot green energy beams at you...They are alien slaves of Nihilanth.

1. The Military was set in to "clean up the mess" the scientist team made. And your wanted for questioning as if you had any ties to what happened with the accident.
2. That I know is the Lambda Team needed the rocket in orbit for something.
3. The Alien Slaves show up for the first time in Office Complex.

2. They needed it so that gordon could teleport to Xen

3. Its those aliens which shot electisety. They are slaves, but in hl2, they are free (sence you killed Nihilithat)

4. Its a universal union which counqers worlds, it has taken XEN, then you find XEN and the Union desides to take the oppertuity to counqer Earth, when its done, they create the combine which they took DNA from Shepard (Opposing force) and DNA from Aliens...also a little robotic tecnece i think (look at that graffiti picture for more info) when that was done, they made thousens of Combines to guard earth, and Breen is trying to convince the Union to use the Combine as the leading product, to produce billions of them to counqer and hold other worlds, instead of the soldier that the Union currently are using.

Not very, for the most part. It's speculation, just like the speculation you'll find around here...I agree with pretty much all of it except the xen/combine connection

Nihilanth was probably a leader of some sort of the Xen race, but he was captured by the combine, "combined" (you see that he has metal parts and stuff in the game) and enslaved to lead them in this attack on Earth.

I don't think any of the Xen's are combine creatures, the Vortigaunts had some enslaving Combine technology I think but other than that, no.

But note that it's a point of contention whether or not Xen was actually Combine controlled in the first game. You can decide yourself, although personally I lean slighty closer to the "Yes, Xen was Combine controlled" end of the argument.

Although I don't think anyone will refute that the Xenians are native and not Combine creatures. There's a chance they're manipulated/controlled/altered, depending on what you believe, but, orginally, they're (probably) Xenian fauna.

Pretty damn confusing really if you're new to it all.
