Half-Life 2 at E3 [twice]

Two different Half-Life 2 demonstrations!! Yay, sounds great :D:D

Nice news :)

And YAY 2 demonstrations of HL2....ALL NEW INFO! :smoking:

I think this has already been discussed in much detail.

I wonder if all the stuff shown at E3 will be released as Bink videos...

Most probly will

Valve have been generous in past with giving us 11ish vids , im sure they will give us sum more 'eye candy' if u will :)

EDIT: Wooo , my one hundreth post :) , not been on forums long either :D

Slightly off-topic , if any of u get Game network on Sky or wot ever..

They usualy do big preveiws of the E3 events , just thought ide mention this coz last year they did a bit on the HL2 demonstration , with an Interveiw with Doug and Gabe.. :stare:

Wow, Valve, way to go. That's probably the beginning of their massive gigantic dinosaur PR-campaign.

If you go to www.e3insider.com you can watch live(I think) webcast of e3.

This also doesn't mean there doing to showings of HL2, they could be showing off another game, but I doubt it. *prays for Hl2*

Initially we'll just get crappy some dude holding a cam footage. I'm 99% sure Valve will release what they show in high quality.

Hey, a shaky-cam(tm) footage is great too because we get to hear those hilarious comments, like "will this run on my 486" at last year's presentation :D

.......haha....hahaha....er.r...ha...errm..... :dozey:

Actually it does:

"At this years E3 Expo, there will be not one - but TWO - Half-Life 2 theatres to get a look at two different demonstrations with ALL-NEW content."

IT says two HALF-LIFE 2 theatres. Not two VALVE theatres. Whether they're showing videos, playable demo or have only some kind of a press conference remains to be seen. But one thing is sure, both will have HL2 content.

I think VALVe is starting to release too much information about Half-Life 2 to be honest. I was hoping not to know anything at all about the storyline except for the stuff that was mentioned at first (the game continues after you make the choise to work for G-man).
But now I know the name of the bad guy, now I know the G-man isn't the bad guy (I didn't want to know that until I started playing it. :bonce: )
I hope VALVe mostly will give away new graphics info instead of storyline info at this years E3.

Same , source engine terrain and jus sum more shotty to zombie action :)

This doesn't make sense to me. Why show the same game in two different places? The only idea I can think of is another game from Valve relating to HL2 being shown off, as in CS2 or TF2.

We'll just hav to wait and see m8 , not much more we can do

(i wish E3 wos TMOROW!!!)..

I believe the main preview would be at Valves own booth, Both vivendi and ATI will have HL2 content to, although ATi's will mainly be to flog there new cards.

Yeah, that's what I think too. This far I've managed to keep my self 10ft from the spoilers. Allthough I think Valve know how much to give away without spoiling too many surprises. And as people have said already, I think there will still be many surprises. Like if they told you'll start form there and there, you wouldn't know what happens after that.

So ATI latest cards will run HL2..........

I want to see a HL2 benchmark result between NV40 vs ATI420..........So I can decide which card is worthy,

exactly... at E3 ATI will show HL2 to promote there new cards and valve will just show new content of the game. So thats why there will be 2 presentations of HL2 :P

only the valve one will have the new info.

But the ATI booth may show its product with HL2 using new things we havnt seen b4 (different area of City-17 perhaps)

Most of the story they have revealed is mainly stuff you would find out near the beggining it seems, so it doesnt bother me.

i wonder if munro will cry about copyright material from e3. NO VIDEO LINKS! NO PICTURE LINKS! NOTHING!

LMAO u turd , Munro isnt doing any thing wrong , hes doing what is right for Halflife2.net

but technically all the information, videos and pictures from e3 is copyright... right?
not to mention that every new piece of information is required to use a spoiler tag now.. =\
those people who want to live in darkness shouldn't be reading so much about half life 2.

I have no ideas on Copyright law and all the above , but if the mods dnt want it on their forum we have to respect that

I have this really peculiar feeling that the demos and whatnot shown at E3 are technically considered advertising by their owners, anyway...

Hmm, I think it's a bit of a murky issue. It's not the exact same as showing them in magazines, which is obviously copyrighted. ButI suppose any images shown at e3 could be considered to be owned by Valve, and thus non-distributable.

However, since Valve is showing their game there for advertisement purposes in the first place, I can't see why they would care if it was reproduced elsewhere.

We have two VALVe booths, One VU booth and one ATI booth. I hope that doesnt mean we will get loads of spoilers :(

Also, All munro is doing is protecting Half-Life2.net and its community :)

All the demos will be on Fileplanet and IGN.com to be downloaded and views for free just like last year.

Check Fileplanet.com for the last year vids.

Nice responses from those friendly chaps

I think that guy on the IGN board sounds pissed off cause he knows he could of saved his money on his ATI card for 7 months more, for a more upto date card lol ;)

Hmm... Seems like a good way to keep the lines down, right?
I'm not going to be there, but, still....

Man, I'd pay to stand in line at E3....................... :bonce:

I'd settle for the actual game, myself.

And two demonstrations? Most likely one will showcase the single player game and the other the multiplayer component.
