Half-Life 2 has basic netcode in it for MODing purposes.

And yes, you can start an MP server without any mods and join MP server without any MODs. Do a search for it on these forums, Spartan.

I forgot that you can (sort of) play multiplayer. I didn't really believe that co-op could work in any way. It never worked in Half-Life.

All he did was load a SP map on his server. It's not really Co-Op at all, because other levels probably wont load right, and scripted sequences wont act out correctly either.

It's just the terribly basic HL2 MP on a SP map.

well dog follows you and you go over and he opens the thing for you then you go past and that thing attacks and he lets go and jumps up on that ship and it works fine... I didn't want to make a video of that because it's a spoiler though

I didn't try going farther than that because we just messed around

but the coast maps work fine also

i played coop the first time even b4 tfc came out.
must have been somewhen in january 1999
but as i said: some of the scripts were ****ed up and there was only 1 spawnpoint

other then that, it ran fine.

Someone just posted a bogus CS2 video. HL2's multiplayer was discovered only a few days ago, and its functionality is limited at best. So someone suddenly announces that he has been playing HL2 as a co-op game and I'm supposed to believe it without blinking an eye?

You are a moronic troll. You can play DM/Coop by loading SP maps. The SDK was released before the game was. There has been coop for HL 1 since 1999. Please shut up until you at least have a shred of accurate information.

Co-operative play was never implemented by Valve. Unless you can prove otherwise.
