"Speaking to the developer's Doug Lombardi, he initially re-confirmed that Half-Life 2 has been announced for Xbox, then went on to clarify the PS2 situation, saying that: "At this point, there are no plans to publish a version [of Half-Life 2] for either of Sony or Nintendo's current systems."

Of course, this means Valve's sequel looks like it will remain exclusive to Xbox in this generation of consoles - somehow, we think Microsoft might be smiling. However, it is highly possible that we'll see Half-Life 2 appearing on the next machines from Sony and Nintendo.

When questioned on the HL2 for PlayStation 3 and GameCube 2 reports, Lombardi told us: "Valve is obviously interested in hearing more about their [Sony and Nintendo] next-generation plans and discuss the possibilities of doing something with them."

I copied this off of www.hl2central.net, and they got the info from www.computerandvideogames.com/

More 'news' that isn't news, hurrah \o/

I think we're starting to get into that 'dead, no news' period again :o

It might be my lack of sleep causing a "brain fart," but is that implying this was already known?

I think it is. So another dead period has started.

It might be fun to try playing HL2 on the next generation consoles. Might.

But the good news is that this means that VALVe is really focused on releasing the game, rather than fooling around with the press. (and sing the MMonty Phyton's "Always Look On the Bright Side Of Your Life" ;)

HL2 for the Xbox will only narrowly miss the Xbox 2 launch (assuming they don't start it until after the PC version is done)

Notice how Lombardi didn't mention Xbox 2? Potential launch title, methinks.

In the future, console controllers will progress to a layout of the full alphabet, along with numers 0 - 9 known as a "keyboard." Along with this, for cursor and selection, will be a handheld device known as a "mouse."

Console technology will be so advanced that you will be able to simply "upgrade" it by purchasing new "graphics cards."

:dork:

It's scary because it's true.

PC > Consoles

Why buy something that u can't upgrade, with often crappy controls? :p

Heh heh, I thought he meant the "console" too...

I love consoles (really! I have all of 'em, and two xboxes, guess why?) but without a mouse FPS's blow goats on 'em.
Halo was superb but I always found myself shouting "Grrrrr, if I had a mouse and keyboard...". Metriod Prime the same really.

But regarding the "real" console, Valve, can we have a console guide please? :P

two xboxes, guess why?

No truly I can't ... please tell ...

Anyways, yay for the PC ... the most console i've ever gone is to get a Gameboy. And that's only cos u can't take ur PC to the side of an Italian swimming pool :P
