Half life 2 doesnt autorun!!!!!

Ok...Just got Half Life 2..throw it in my CD-ROM drive, just like it says...and nothing happens. Ok, no problem..go to My computer, and the D drive is absolutely dormant. Can't explore it or anything, because according to the ****ing computer, there's nothing there.

This sucks ass, someone please assist...

Where are you from? If you are from europe theres a good chance that you got a DVD version and if you put it in a CD-DRIVE it dosent work(belive me I was scratching my head when the same happend with splinter cell)

The collector's edition is a DVD not a CD-ROM, thats your problem.

Nah I'm from the US...but I think it's a DVD version anyways. It comes with a reference card that actually tells you to put the disc into your CD-ROM drive..

Well the disc it'self will say DVD-ROM or CD-ROM that's a good way to tell.

But if it's a cd rom, I would check for firmware updates from your CD rom manafacturer.

Don't worry I was going crazy when I got splinter cell with my graphics card, and then 1 day I checked the DVD(Dont get a box with it) I was like s*** i'm so dumb.

Some stores don't take back PC games before 10 days even if it is a problem like that, if you have a store like that just post here and i'll tell you what to do.

But its not like he can exchange his collector's edition for a normal one. There is no collector's edition with normal CD-ROMs, so exchanging it would be useless. This sucks if you don't have a DVD drive though.
