Alright guys, you've probably already heard of this issue and could care less that another person with it can't play the game, but I have the Intel Mobile 945GM Chipset, and the game runs great and crashes.

The game runs GREAT, even suggests high detailed settings... and then, I got to the first save in the demo and it crashes...

Most laptops (including this one) are jam-packed with software (Norton, intel graphics features, etc) and this could be contributing to the problem, intel has noted that the game runs and crashes... and intel also says that FEAR is compatible with this chipset (on the suggested settings, ive made my way through the demo, although it has crashed too on occasion)

Basically, Im wondering if someone out there has found some ways to tweak it to work throughout the game, everyone will say "your computer sucks" or "get a better computer" or just plain "tuff luck", but if the game will run great for a bit and then crash, there must be a way to resolve the issue...

You may be passing an autosave point where it is crashing. Someone here knows the console command, but i don't. Another option is to try and reinstall the game. If that doesn't work then it's probably to do with the chipset.

Glad to see you sorted it. Enjoy the games.

Well, I haven't quite fixed it, I've just confirmed that there should be a way to get it to work, I don't know how yet, if anyone knows how to make the game work, I'd appreciate the help, thank you.

Try this: +mat_forcehardwaresync 0

BTW, if anyone has had any luck running Episode 2 or TF2 on the 945GM, I'd like to hear it.
