Half-Life 2 installation fail

I have recently bought the Half-Life Complete bundle and tried to install Half-Life 2. It said it would be about 6000 mb. I clicked cancel. The next day I tried to install and it didn't give me my storage information. I clicked continue. It installed in less than a second. When I lookes in my downloads, it aaid it was only a few bytes! I clicked play. The Valve theme played and the loading screen came. Then the play menu. I clicked play and started the campaign. I got Gman in my face saying "Rise and shine Mr. Freeman" so it seemed to play fine. But why only a few bytes? Is it possible I already had hl2 files on my computer? I need to know, I spent good money.

The graphics were PERFECT too, so I think I may have gotten these hl2 files when I installed Garry's Mod. I uninstalled hl2. I will try installing it the next day. I wanna kill aliens and see good graphics beside cheap 1998 graphics.
