Half-life 2 XBOX version status

I keep hearing rumors about game being cancelled in gamefaqs.com forums. Is it true?

Why aren't we informed about it since it's out for PC. the FAQS in halflife2.net states XBOX version WAS COMPLETED EVEN BEFORE PC RELEASE so it makes no sense at all!

Will someone please update the FAQS about console version of Half-life 2?

Half-Life 2 will not be coming to Xbox. Instead, from what I've heard, they will be releasing it on the next Xbox. Perhaps, a launch title.

Nothing has been officially announced on the status of HL2 and the XBox version. It was completed before the PC version. When an official announcement is made regarding HL2 XBox that section of the page will be updated.

You sure about that? I doubt it.

Completing the XBOX version first would mean that the PC version is essentially a port. That doesn't really make much sense at all.

I can't remember any announcement regarding the X-Box version of Half-Life 2 lately. Are you sure its completed? Link?

well... they announced that the xbox version was completed before they announced that the PC version was. but does it mean that the xbox version was completed before? not at all. you know valve don't you.

There's no way in hell xbox could ever handle the source engine without a
crappy frame rate. Xbox 2 should be able to handle it though..

At first I was kind of sketch about HL2 on the XBox. But then I saw some of the screens of Doom3 and it actually looked kind of cool. The only thing I worry about is the physics which are much more CPU intensive, and don't know if the Xbox can handle it, which is why I expect it to come out for the next XBox. But maybe for this one.

How ironic it would be for HL2 to be the launch title for the second XBox. Because Halo was the launch title for the first... And they are pretty much rivals...

I dunno, by using my brain:

So unless he works at VALVe Software, the following statement would either be conjecture OR a mistake:

There was news going around I think in early 2004 stating that the XBox version was complete. I can't actually find it right now.

I did, however, ask Doug Lombardi and this is what he had to say:

Completed? No.

In the works? Yes.
