Got any ideas? Share them with me! Just don't talk about the Gman being Gordon or stuff like that.My theorie'

You wake up. You here someone say "He's awake!". You see who it is and see its a rebel and shes rolling you on a one of those rolly cot things.

The HL2 storyline was enough of a departure from HL1 - "aliens invading, stop them" vs. "aliens here and in control, make them go away" - that I think it'll be really really hard to accurately predict what the next game will involve. Presumably the HL2 storyline finishes either with the sealing-off of Earth from the Combine dimensions or some major victory against the Combine empire itself, neither of which lends itself well to there still being "us-the-rebels vs. them-the-oppressors".
The only thing I can think of that'll really tie back to the storyline, assuming Earth doesn't get sealed off, is some kind of assault against some major offworld center of the Combine's power. Xen's "back under control", the Combine are (probably) going to be off Earth, so unless an entirely new force is introduced - which is possible; perhaps the faction that had hired the GMan at some point - it's going to be more Combine.
Not necessarily human Overwatch Combine, though - that would perhaps count as an introduction of a new enemy, if HL3 introduced an entirely new race under Combine control.

We join a third party (G-Man's employers maybe) and take a shot at the Combine homeworld?

The Combine send in some serious reinforcements and we retreat to Xen with the Vortigaunts. Then we're both stuck there?

What if, Valve went back to the good ol' expansions like Op4 etc. but made a game from Eli's point? It could be called: Opposing Shift, or Blue Force, or Opposing Decay! No, that'd be a stupid idea... but what would be nice, would be to see some goddamn snow!!! Or another Desert, or some other country, just to see what the REST of the world is like.

Half-Life 3 is going to be SimAnt, but in 4D.

Once the Half-life 2 storyline is complete and the Earth chapter wrapped up I see the story moving off-world. Breen described it; we got a glimpse of it when the portal opened and we've been within the border world. I think we'll shift away from the Half-life 2 cast and the story, following it's usual trend of "Gordon's actions have led to.." will see the Combine Empire fractured and falling apart.

That would be real interesting. I just hope they don't turn it into a game where you always/mostly have to fly some kind of spaceship :P

I would like to see some more vehicles. Like on GTA or Mercenaries and you just jack a Combine helicopter

Gordon: "Bitch got 'jacked!"

Combine soldier: "당신을 거미남자 비난하십시오!!!

Moving somewhere else with some of the cast following Freeman and some faces introduced, still a fight against the combine but on other worlds

Well, while the Combine have been over-shadwoing since HL1, and they've always been hinted at, this does not make them the games big baddies. I'm hoping we move away from the Combine eventually. If the Combine empire is collapsing something must take it's place; there's always a bigger fish right?

No way to make any sort of guess until we have EP3.

Yet if the Combine empire is large (It may have multiple universes in fact) I dont think a small rebellion in an Eastern European city will tear it appart. Sure, it will piss them off, but I'd say that what we are about to face is what the Combine are capable of sending right after the Citadel destruction, not the thread that will come behind them.

But still, our Overwatch Soldiers are looked for in multiple universes, and they won't want to loose the source of them.

wait a sec HL2 is in Europe???!?!?!?!? How the hell did Gordon get from New Mexico to Europe? Whtever

Continued theory

you wake up blah blah blah rolly cart blah blah

You get into a small building and the screen goes black then white
(fade)

"Unfortunately mr. freeman you are unemployed." wierd thing is that it isnt gman the says that...

Gordon wakes up again. He sees a rebel gaurding a door and he tells you to "Get off your damn ass and help him!". You pick up a mp7 and walk through the door only to see Alyx there lying dead in Eli's arms.

"(behind sobs) I know you tried to save her but i'm still angry at those damn combine!"

You walk out the door only to see that 3 dead striders lay on the ground...you walk farther and here a really loud sound. Turns out that one of the striders was'nt so dead. The sitrder takes one step and is instantly vaporized by a huge cannon of some sort. You look behind you only to see some wierd "things" firing some kind of mortar. They quikly run away and the game tells you "Go ****ing chase them you retard!"

The game starts

I am pretty sure City 17 is not the only city that has the capability to provide soldiers.
Besides, now that you have no real communication there, It would be very hard for people outside City 17 to even know there is a rebellion going on.
Someone of the other side of the much drained Atlantic won't know what's happening. I also doubt the Combine would say "Hey look city xx, we just lost city 17! Why dont you just spark a rebellion here too?" Propaganda would cover up such "incidents" if I may. It wont be the first nor the last time.

They've lost Breen. When suddently the breencasts are replaced by static blur on the screens, at least some ought to rebel a little.

It's been said before, but the storyline from HL to HL2 took such a massive leap that it's difficult to predict HL3's storyline.

Which is why I'm holding out for the SimAnt theory.

If anything I'd like to see a Half-Life 3 just so we can see another next-gen Half-Life game. There are a lot of interesting games coming out nowadays, or in production, and I'd love to see what Valve could do with all of that tech. I would really love to see the entirety of the Combine rendered in a massive truly next-generation game. Soon they're really going to be cabable of having entire armies fighting it out in games, and the enviroments they're going to be creating are spectacular.

So if for no other reason... I want a Half-Life 3. I want Valve to take as long as they feel they need though. Good things come to those who wait.

A: I doubt that Nova Prospekt was the sole producer of transhumans.
B: If all the citadels have lost power (Kleiner isn't really clear on this, perhaps only the teleportation reactors are down), it might be taken as a sign to fight back.
C: The rebellion has been going on for a week. Someone could have sent messages to resistance groups in other cities in that time.

HALF-LIFE 3 :-

In the distant future Kasparov, with his evil chess genius, invents a gravity generator and sends Jupiter on a collision course with earth. In a desperate rush to save humanity, Gordon must unlearn his wicked fighting skills and hit the books again. He must now master chess as he mastered the antlions. And we, the gamers, get the chance to fill Gordon's shoes and learn fascinating 1337 moves in a game of uberchess with the demented Kasparov himself.

Featuring boss fights with George Bush and Jack Thompson, and a cameo appearance by Chuck Norris. At one point Gordon assimilates the powers of Hyper Jesus and destroys the Death Star!!

Coming soon...
