When I'm playing Half-Life over Steam, the music in the game is missing. There is an MP3 volume option (supposedly, the music is in BINK) however.

Do you have to own the CD to play it? Any way around?

I think it's just a simple bug at the moment.

BINK is nothing to do with music.

This isn't the forum to report Steam problems. Try over at the www.steampowered.com forums or email [email protected] and you should get some help.

I noticed the music when I played through a while ago. Maybe it's a new thing.

Except, there isn't any music in the tram at the start. Does the music play when you put your HEV suit on?

I would move this thread if I could now.

Apparently, Music is not in at all if you only use Steam to play the game, but is if the CD Rom is in the drive (with the exception of the intro). Mmm. I've heard some good things about the game's music...guess I'll wait for a fix (if there ever is one).

just to stop anyone mis reading or getting confused about this topic, this only refers to half-life, not half-life 2

HL2 uses MP3's more than CD music. So obviously the MP3's will be streamed to you from Steam.

Edit: This only pertains to HL1? Dude, post this in the Steam forums...ugh

When I looked at the source of the thread creation it only said "General Discussion". I'm sorry, now calm down. And it would have helped had you actually read the thread, not just the title.

General Discussion pertaining to what this site is about, which is Half-Life 2.

"And it would have helped had you actually read the thread, not just the title."

It would help if you read the rest of the sections to find one called 'Off-Topic' or 'Steam'.

So I guess we both made a mistake eh :rolling:
