Please don't yell at me if I posted this in the wrong spot or something, I'm new here.

Ok to the post. Have you ever thought why They named the game Half-life?

I may of missed something in the game but i don't know what "Half life" has to do with the game. Maybe because your on halfyour life alot?

Anyone know why the game was called "Half-Life"?

Several threads have been made about this...check search next time. But Half Life is a scientific term relating to the time is takes radioactive materials to break down half way I believe.

Since black mesa deals with science and radioactive materials....only fitting.

The symbol of HL is lambda... it's on Gordon's HEV, and the central portal to Xen was in the Lambda Complex. Lambda is used also, in science, as a symbol for element's half-life.

Half-Life, in scientific terms, simply means the time required for half the nuclei in a sample of a specific isotopic species to undergo radioactive decay. The Lambda sign, as Solver stated, is also used in science as the symbol for the element's Half-Life; as well it is also the 11th letter of the Greek alphabet. If you clue these all together, then it seems feasible.

Just out of interest, what search term would you use "Half-Life"?

Thanks guys, now I know.

And Sourcerer I was thinking the same thing, I even tried it... I got almost every thread.

Why didn't they include Princesses and Giraffes and dancing Squirrels, who are controlled by a man, known as the Squirrel King ?

We'll never know!
