Hammer editor fatal error

Whenever i try and open up the new hammer editor i get this error (see image) any help would be great.

I had the same error, its caused by giving in the wrong directory for the gameinfo.txt file. The way I solved this was by firing up regedit (start -> run -> regedit) and searching for 'hammer'. It came up with this dir:

HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-448539723-602162358-725345543-1003\Software\Valve\Hammer

In there there is a subdir called Configured. Now delete the 2 keys in there and restart hammer. It will ask you to configure again. Now make sure you give in the correct path to gameinfo.txt. This file is in this dir:

Steam\SteamApps\<username>\sourcesdk\launcher

And off you go.

Much easier if you just rename the \sourcesdk\bin\gamecfg.ini to .old

Then you can start configuration new. Helped for me...
