ahhh so it is! The beloved 16th! I woke up early in the morning for college as usual, turned the pc on, which i never do in the morning, and with 10 minutes to spare joined the halflife 2 irc channel, where it was getting spammed TO HELL.

Then the countdown and the 'wooooooooooooooo's continually for 10 minutes, until people had unlocked their game. Ahhh it was unreal, but that passion has gone now, hype was an amazing thing.

no it was conceived back in 1998 and was growing in valve's womb until 1 year ago today
therefore hl2 is one year old today

Good times... I've never ridden my bike that fast home from the bus stop. 2 km in 5 min It took me half a hour to unlock, and when the unlock counter got stucked I panicked and started spamming this forum in seach for advice. Once I had unlocked it I played for 8 straight hours before forcing myself to quit the game and get something to eat.

I was uploading a page of my old comic, and I remember looking at the insane spam/rave threads of people going 'OMFG UNLOCKING UNLOCKING' and wishing I could play too. I can't quite remember why I couldn't - all I know is that I had to wait a week or so before playing it.

WHat was I doing? I didn't even know what the Hell Half - Life 2 was! Until I saw it in GamePro Magazine. I thought: Hmm must be another crappy game sequel. Now that I've bought it, I hate myself for saying that.:x

just played through the game and only took one break cuz i had class. I finished the entire game in 4 hours and 50 minutes, a year later and its still amazingly fun.
