There has been numerous reviews on the 5700 Ultra but I haven't seen any include a HL2 benchmark. The performance increase over the 5600 Ultra in Aquamark 3 was rather high (around 50 percent) and it would be interesting to see how it performs in Half-Life 2.

Yes, the HL2 stolen code is stolen code, not good for benchmarking and illegal as well.

its not a beta, its a compiled version of the stolen source engine and a bunch of other files the thief managed to grab hold of and stuck together that just happened to work and is a very very very very very early version of it, many months before the version from E3

i wonder if the mods could set this forum to always replace "beta" with the words stolen code instead heh

There you go Fenric, successfully edited. ;P

EDIT: Oops, name typo.

Davis, there is no real benchmarking prog for HL2. As stated by Fenric1138 and Faravid people have used this illegal hackergrabbing thing to test the performance. But I wouldn't recommend that.

Well what about the offical review sites?

they had hl2 benchmarks ages before the beta leaked......

so is it possible to find out what they were using?

People calm down, he never said anything about using the stolen code to test it, he simply wanted to know if a HL2 benchmark existed using the 5700 ultra.

As far as I know there isn't a benchmark out yet but hopefully Valve will release something soon.

G0rgon - the sites that were using the HL2 benchmark at the beginning of September was an official version distributed to only certain people by Valve. It was legal.
