Has FOV altered in Patch?

Hey

I like some others are having problems after re-installing HL2 yesterday i can't change FOV to 90????

I start with the console
sv_cheats 1
FOV 90

but it remains - "FOV" is "75"

I have also tried

sv_cheats 1
default_fov 90
fov 90

again it remains "FOV" is "75"

so is there another way of changing this or has anything been altered in a patch and/or is anyone else have this problem?
