Having a problem in loading...

Ok. I am having a problem when I complete a scene and reach a checkpoint. I go to my HL2 console and it say's
Unable to remove c:\program files\valve\half-life 2\hl2\SAVE!
Unable to remove c:\program files\valve\half-life 2\hl2\SAVE!
Unable to remove c:\program files\valve\half-life 2\hl2\SAVE!

ect.... For some reason it does this then it saves which takes FOREVER every single time is load's. I do not know if this is a big problem people have been having or what but it is quite annoying. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

These files, are they set to read-only? If so, try unchecking the 'read-only' box. Because it seems like the game can't write/rewrite the save files.
