Having got this far without getting stuck, what happened??

I don't get it. I'm in the "laundry room", having just destroyed all the combines with the ant lions. I enter the back of the laundry where there are two air ducts. I can't figure a way to get up there...or is there another way outta this place??!!??

Hmm, I'm having trouble visualising where you are. A screenshot may help.

Or, of course, you could go here, which is the start of the Nova Prospekt part of the Half Life 2 guide on Gamespot. Read through there until you find where you are. Hope that helps.

Go back to the entrance of the laundry room. Face forward - towards the dead combine soldiers. Now, head over to the wall on the right. There should be a passageway along that wall.

It was even in the E3 demos.

I hadn't noticed, in my haste, the small hole in the window in the guard's shack.

I got a surprise

Now I'm stuck at the next surprise. Ugh. Pretty spooky, getting caught in the 'machine'. I have a normal fear of getting crushed.
