Having trouble running map!

When I try to run my map from hammer it loads up half life 2 where I can see the menu then the screen just goes black. However, I can still see/use the cursor and I can still access the menu because I can hear the sound it makes when the cursor goes over the buttons. Any help appreciated.

It'd help if you removed the space between "source" and "map" so it reads "sourcemap" or use an underscore so it looks like "source_map"

But I also saw this today when trying to build my own map. Very curious. I was busy at the time and didn't bother to pursue the problem.
 
Yeah no spaces in map names at all. To save the trouble of recompiling, just rename your .bsp.
 
Yep, that solved it. Thanks for the help.

I can't believe something so simple causes the whole thing to not work.
