I'm in the market for a heatsink/fan that fits to an LGA 775 socket (For my Q6600), fits in my Cooler Master Centurion 5 case, keeps it cool, and around the $30-$40USD price range. (Shipping excluded)

I suppose the Arctic Cooler Freezer 7 Pro would do, but I've read its really noisy.

Then again, I don't mind noise so much exactly, as there is generally other loud ambient noises anyway. Plus nobody sleeps in this room, I usually have my headset on, the TV is usually on, and there is an air purifier that creates ambient noise from its fan - so it would essentially be louder than the HSF, most likely.

Anyway, suggestions appreciated :)

Below are 3 that I would advise you to take a look at. Save up another $40 and buy a Monsoon 2 Lite. It's one of the best AIR CPU coolers on the planet. Price is between $80 & $100.

Top Rated Heatsink & Fan Combo
1) Monsoon 2 Lite

2) Big Typhoon VX

They all look good, but the problem is, I'm a bit worried that some (if not all) of the ones you listed might not fit in the case.

I priced the Monsoon on Newegg, and it is definitely over-budget. (And out-of-stock, save for an Open Box)

Looking it over, I'll probably go with the Tuniq Tower 120...Provided the measurements agree with my case clearance (Which I'll check on again soon.) - I'm almost certain there wouldn't be enough clearance for the Big Typhoon.

Main reason being - We need to finish this build. When we ordered it, I completely overlooked aftermarket CPU cooling, got to building it, and realized I should've ordered an aftermarket cooler.

So if I had more time, I might save for a monsoon, but the build has already been delayed for several weeks (various reasons), and our warranties are wearing thin - and I want to test it out to make sure nothings going to plop out on me before the warranties end.

Freezer 7 pro noisy? Nah. I got one, I keep it at 70% fan speed at all times, enough cooling and a lot more quiet than at 100%. It's a really good cooler, especially for the price ($20). Keeps my e6300 @ 3325mhz @ 1.400V idle 40?C load 60?C (open case), which is pretty good.

Looking it over, I'll probably go with the Tuniq Tower 120.

Excellent choice, & I do mean excellent. Thats a very good HS&F unit that provides excellent performance. I read a few reviews about it awhile back. All positive. Let me look for it..... ok here ya go. Looks like Anandtech gave it an excellent score themselves & they know their stuff.

Tuniq tower is pretty good. Arctic Cooler Freezer 7 Pro too. Of course I'm a fan of thermalright stuff.

It's one of the best AIR CPU coolers on the planet.
actually it's a peltier. :p

Price is probably the biggest factor for ya. But if you know of a few coolers then check out these charts (tuniq tower 120 and monsoon 2 lite included).
Cooling performance.
Noise (all cooler that list the same noise on the chart are not actually the same. But are just under the room noise level.)
