Not just anything, but everything.AntiAnto said:Zero indicates the absence of anything. It's nothing as for itself. Being "below the zero" must make you really nothing, a perfect nonentity.

Answer me this, smarty pants. Does zero indicate the absense of everything, including itself?
So you are telling me it's possible to become a perfect non-entity by going below zero, a mere indication of absence?AntiAnto said:Zero is an indication which quantifies an amout of nothing, it is not a concept. Since it is an indication, it doesn't really apply in this situation. You might ask if nil conceptualizes its own absence though.

Also as zero is an indication, and being that it does not exist as a concept, is it not safe to say zero indicates the absence of itself? (;

My turn.AntiAnto said:EDIT: Zero is nothing but an indication of nothingness (no pun intended). It (the indication) can't be nothing as it is something that represents the absence of anything.
_Z_Ryuken said:There is no such thing as "nothingness".
DreadLord1337 said:SHUT UP. Seriously. You so just ruined his n00b thread.
Intangible things that might as well be nothing, because that's what they represent, but nothingness itself takes up more space in thought than any dimension, thus is pointless.AntiAnto said:The nothingness is also a concept that represents an absence. The concept of "absence" needs words:
Nil, zero, nothing
Those are such thing.

An international border represents itself and is measurable and is therefor useful.AntiAnto said:Following your logic, an international border is pointless?

Silly boy.

You missed the point i believe, a border is a line drawn on a map usually created by topographical factors, it isn't there, it's just recognised as existing in order to divide one country to the next or an ocean. It's recognised to be there, but it isn't.
mehtheSteven said:If nothing is there does that mean nothing is absent?![]()
Borders are drawn alllllll over the place on maps. Thousands of miles worth of borders. Not only this but the entire Earth has been mapped a few times over and every bit of border is stored digitally. Chances are at any given moment ther is more drawn and digital border existing than people thinking about it.AntiAnto said:And it takes more space in thoughts than in dimensionsIs it pointless? No.
0 = space, without 0 there'd be no room for anything to move, so nothing is useful.Azner said:0 is the meaning of absence as anti anto said... what is ur main question anyway... oh yeah i for got HI... there is no usefullness of nothingness... It is scary thinking of nothingness or just feels weird with nothing around... just white, youve never had the feeling of not being around so you wouldnt understand, none of us would... well i can still presume that the feeling of nothingness is like a blank mind... tyr to remember something before you were born... NOTHING in ur mind, that is one way to exeperince nothingness...still brainwashing leaves a persons mind in nothingness filled with white and blank not even yourself just plain blanks...
