OK, if someone feels so inclined, could I get a little advice?
I'm wondering what to upgrade first on my PC to make Half-Life 2 run smoother(all three will be eventually, but I want to know which will have the greatest impact). Here's my rig as it stands now:
AMD Athlon XP 2600+ CPU
2x 256 RAM (I don't remember what brand or speed, but it's nothing special or terrible)
ASUS Motherboard - nForce 2 Chipset
nVidia Geforce FX 5900
So, from what I've learned so far I think I'm gonna get an AMD 3400 first, then a new video card, then 1 gig of ram. The game runs smoothly except for the common problem everyone is having with the sound/video jumps which seem to happen very frequently on mine and I thought it was due to lack of ram, but I don't know. Also, does anyone have any guesses on when valve will send something out to help/fix this problem? (I have all the latest drivers for everything from BIOS to Sound Cards also).
Any help would be appreciated.
