Help me i have colours backgrounds

I played hl2 yesterday and i found that i had weird backgrounds all which are different colours - some are yellow, blue, green and red....

can anyone help me on why this happens ?

Is your graphics card overclocked? errr not that i know off

they only appeared after an update for hl2 was installed - if i dont update hl2 the game runs as normal but i want to keep it up to date so im left with yellow, green, blue and red colours in the background.....

please help me ?

Try validating: steam://validate/220

Try updating your drivers. I'd provide a link for that, but you hadn't stated what video card you are running.

erm i doing that now ---- i have a Geforce FX 5200 128 ram

dont worry about updated drivers link, because one other game on my pc goes wrong with drivers higher than v61.76
