Help Please

I am stuck in Chapter 8

I used the cheat code:
impulse 101
to get all the weapon and ammo
however, when I go to the place that I "first" pick up the bugbait, since I already have it, I can't pick it up, and the NPC just stands there and wait for me.

How can I get through it?
Any idea?

and this is why mummy always says never cheat!

get the mapname, restart the game, go into console and do the "map d1_bla bla" thing then u should have no guns, pick it up then cheat again if you must.

Dont use cheats, cause HL2 is so easy game. Replay that level...

come on, it is the 3rd time i am going thru it, and i just wanna try all the "abnormal cases", like having the gravity gun at the begnning and throwing boxes at the Combines...
well...perhaps it is not the tradition here, i am sorry...

You mean you actually expect the scripted scenes to go as planned when you use the console cheats?

I guess the other way round the NPC issue would be to use the no_clip console command, walk through the door that the NPC would have opened, and no_clip again the other end of that particular run and carry on from there.

It's your third time through the game but you don't know how to go into the console and restart a map?

Hey, the no_clip command doesn't work, i think the triggering event would be picking up the bugbait

Did you put the complete command in?

i.e. no_clip 1
no_clip 0

Either that or you could restart the level, OR, skip to the next level.

It's up to you.

Personally I never use cheats. Not since the infamous Manic Miner infinite lives death drop on the Sinclair ZX Spectrum........

it's just noclip

The triggering for the vort to open the doors is picking up the bugbait.

So you're gonna have to restart that section of the level.

if you cheat, you might aswell use noclip

strange... that never happened to me eventhough I cheated all weapons.

if u cheat in a game it makes it rubbish.

IMO, it is fine to cheat if you have finished the game at least once.
