are there supposed to be 3 batteries? i only see two. what do i do with them?

Stick them between the metal connectors in the house. It's where the first two batteries are (at the end of the power cable that runs to the gate). The third battery is outside, look up and you'll see a water tower next to the house with an odd piece of sheet metal hanging over the ledge. Shoot some barrels at it to knock it down, the battery comes with it.
