help, stuck early on (spoiler)

Hi all,

I feel pretty stupid but i'm frustrated by this and really would like an answer. I'm stuck in the antlion layer where i've travelled with a vort. to get some stuff to heal alyx.
I've got to the bit in the trailor where i'm being chased through tunnels by the big-ass antlion and i've got no idea what i'm meant to do. I've thrown all my shotgun ammo and grenades at it and it just wont die. What am i missing?

You dont kill it, just keep going through the caverns hiding in the larvae nests whenever he comes close. Eventually you should make it to a relatively open area, safe from the guard.

Heh, I tried to kill it using cheats, it doesn't die no matter what.

Eventually you will end up in a tunnel that makes a circle back to itself...there is a small mine entrance boarded up on the far side..***n at it guns ablaze and it'll break open for you...beware, the Antlion Guard gets frightengly close!!

Yeah, the number of times the Antlion knocked me about and into the abyss and I hit F9 on the spot...
