HELP - Stuck in Citadel - Jump Key Not Working

I got into the Citadel and jumped into the metal pod thingy and went for a ride. At the end of the ride, the game hung, and after I restarted when I got to that point again elements of the game got all wonky. I cleared my HL2 Steam cache and re-downloaded. Now when I get to the end of the ride, the game seems to be working again except for two things:

- all my weapons are gone and all I have is a gravity gun
- my jump key is not working. All my other keys are.

The problem now is that I am stuck and have no idea where to go next. It seems I need to jump over a short metal grate but I can't jump. I have tried everything.

HELP!

check the bind on the jump key, all of your weapons should have been taken away..

reload your saved game closest to that point, it is a bug.

edit: the jump thing is a bug, not the lack of guns. they were taken away on purpose, if you were paying attention when your gravity gun became awesome.

I have tried re-binding my jump key a number of times. I suspected that my weapons were removed on purpose, and that the jump problem was a bug. Looks like I will be going back to a previous save. Thanks for the feedback.

Start a new game and load that level.

I played without a jump key the remaining game :E
Just used physics to do parts where I had to jump, I just made ramps.

I had this bug too. Reverting to an earlier save point and doing it again did the trick.

Wow I had no idea it was a bug, i just wrenched parts of the nearest control panel off of the wall and tried to climb each of them until i got up one and got over the rail.

Had the same problem here. Really sucks as I have not had one bug until there. Really gave me a headache since you can only go one way in HL2 at any point. It's linear as hell so I though: what am I doing wrong? Tried rocket-jumping with the new zero point energy field manipulator but it didn't work.

Noclipping out of the ground doesn't work either.

I had the same problem...... and tried all sorts to fix it, only after completing the game with no jump i found how to fix it...

Select 'new game' and then select 'our benefactors' and next time don't 'jump' into the metal pod thingy, just press enter and climb in
