when i try to open gmod threw steam playgames, an error message comes up saying "Cache needs decryption". Is there a way to play gmod a diffrent way that steam or a way to fix this?

hm... sorry i can't help you, maybe try reinstalling it or downloading it again, and luckily you won't have to worry about a long time because it's a very small download

That is what fixes most Gmod problems. Like he said, the download is very small so shouldn't be too tiresome.
