While playing with The Brick and Digi, I notice that my ping goes from 150-200. Only thing is, I can't tell! I do not notice for a second that I'm lagging. I don't know what it is, but the lag just doesn't affect me at all.

Is this just me, or everybody?

Well this game isn't nearly as ping sensitive as css, if that's what you mean. You might notice it if you're scout though. Or firing rockets (not sure).

And it's a good thing too, means we can play without annoyances! :D

Where do you live anywhere. The servers you play on give YOU over 100 ping usually...

So far I've only been joining other people, but I've been on loads of server that I get a ping of 15 on.

Are there certain servers where hl2.net people play?

On topic, though, I was getting a ping of 5 on one server yesterday which had me wondering where exactly in my house was this server? :P I've never had such low pings in any other game.

For me, no matter what is the ping, there are lags - always.
Wireless network sucks ass.

Not really. We just pick a server or look at friends and see who's playing and join.

Sorry for the newbish question, but by wireless network do you mean a wireless router (with your PC having a wireless adapter)? Or actual wireless internet?

It's just that I'm thinking of setting that up with my new comp... I was under the impression that speeds should be the same (as makes no difference) to wired, as wireless routers/adapters can handle far more than your connection speed.

It would be annoying if setting that up would nerf my connection. :(

OT: being behind a wireless router doesn't affect gameplay in my experience.

I get 100+ pings as well but my ISP has always provided me with a mediocre connection. Luckily enough, I'm switching ISPs tomorrow. :D
