I'm assuming the code lock must have happend tonight, which is why Gabe felt he could make the statement. I would assume if the code IS locked, there's no reason HL-2 couldn't be pushed to ATI coupon holders via Steam.
However, I'm also aware of the other statement from Valve that said that there would be several other pushes of HL-2 content via Steam in the coming weeks. This suggests the code base ISN'T locked.
This makes me curious: will Steam users actually get a different version of HL-2 than retail buyers? I'm assuming that if there are several more content pushes to come, that these pushes must contain "later" code, otherwise why not just do one push and have it done?
