HL2:DM problems

well I think HL2 DM is a good game but it has couple of problems that ruins the experience:

1) spawning system: this game has the worst spawning system I ever experienced, I thought they fixed that at the last update but I still spawn surrounded by 4 enemies or infront of someone with an RPG or a shotgun.

2) physics objects: man, how many of u got killed because they got stuck on a table or a chair...I mean physics are fun but this is hell to pay... especially when physics stuff kills you without doin anything wrong.

3) crashing to the desktop: since the last update the game crashes to the destop almost every match...

4) sudden deaths: sometimes u just drop dead for some reason (and yea without someone shooting at u)

5) we need new maps and maybe finally a sniper... overwatch and lockdown are the greatest maps but steamlab is kinda descent.... and dont forget the ladders and more bugs on modders maps.

6) did anybody notice the SLAM bug? u put it on an object, remove the object and floats in the air
 
okay whatever, good points, but when did you think that Halflife 2 Deathmatch should be posted this forum, when theres a HL2DM forum a few rows down on the main page :rolleyes:
 
1) havent noticed that, spawning seems entirely randomised to me.

6) yes, this must be fixed, slams on an object should detonate when it is moved.
 
1) You can't really change that - especially if there's something like 10 people in the server.

2) I hate this too. I was killed in Overwatch yesterday because I got stuck in a doorway carrying one of those blue shelves with the gravity gun. I was such an easy target. I also hate it how the player clips to tiny objects like cinder blocks, bottles and paint cans. I always get stuck in those objects. The player should just walk over the smaller objects, rather than getting stuck in them! I also get stuck on ladders!

3) I've been getting this more and more. Especially when there are a lot of people in the server. Ticks me off when I have a lot of frags, and then I have to start all over again!

4) This is a weird one... I sometimes die when I get stuck in an object... it has the same effect as if someone threw that object at me.

5) Definitely. We need more official maps. HL1DM had something like 8. All great maps. Bootcamp, Datacore, Bounce, Stalkyard, Frenzy, Crossfire, Rapidcore and the list goes on! I think Valve should remake all the classics. I'm not sure about adding a sniper rifle though. That seems to be more of a Counter Strike thing. It just doesn't seem to fit into the HL story. The crossbow is the next closest thing, or the magnum if you can zoon+release+shoot pretty well. I think a sniper rifle wouldn't be a good idea. It would encourage camping (as if we don't already get enough RPG-camping in Overwatch)!

6) Definitely. Also, if you press MOUSE1 to throw the slam, and then quickly switch to another weapon - when you switch back to the slam, you'll end up throwing one anyway, whether you like it or not.
 
Teleporting in Steamlabs with an item in the g-gun removes the item.

Spawning in the middle of explosions.

Spawncamping ******s.

Maps. These three are really good but they don't hold a candle to anything CS or HL1 had. (Official maps, anyway)
 
get a nice desktop backround....that makes the pain of crashing less painful. Something like the muppets, or barry manilow. Stay away from crabcakes.
 
It does crash a lot, doesn't it? I must've crashed at least a dozen times in the first few days after the SLAM was added in. Haven't played since then though. And it never crashed on me before that update. Damn you Valve. :P
 
i get that problem when someone does something stupid like blow up 5 million things at once
