HL2 Expansion Perhaps?

I wonder if Valve is planning on having expansion pack releases for HL2. Maybe you could play as a Combine soldier tasked with whatever their goal is. Or better yet, a civilian living in City 17 trying to escape the alien and Combine onslaught.
