HL2 Expansion ?!

So, i see everybody is talking about HL3 which they seem to presume should be next in line of development for VALVe.

Would'nt it by more logic in doin an/some expanison/-s instead. I mean HL had 2 expansion packs so why shouldn't HL2 have some.

Anyway, would be interesting of what ya all think of this and maybe what it would be about :E

Tons of ideas been posted around... playing as Barney or Sheppard again... playing as a Combine, another Resistance member, as Alyx, etc.

Valve apparently are considering making a game where you play as Alyx. And as all expansions up until now have been from another persons perspective, and both real games have been from Gordon, then it is pretty safe to assume that there will be at least one expansion before half-life 3
